П climbing on a ladder to the roof to collect fallen overripe fruits from the slanted apricot trees above the house; I know what hot tar feels like underfoot as I step barefoot on it and sink into its sticky embrace. The abundance of apricots attracted many wasps; walking across that roof left my feet blackened with tar that took hours to scrub off. The roof seemed ready to collapse at any moment and smelled sweetly of fermenting apricots mixed with tar—a scent both pleasant and repulsive—as I had to toss away wasp-infested fruit from there.
Humans were wrapped in this same tar paper after being hanged.
There was an old frail man who appeared on television during his trial—an elderly figure with a thin neck who first faced the cameras before he was executed by hanging. He suffocated slowly by rope along with countless others just like him—hundreds in total—all part of a systematic purge where some were trained specifically for execution duties while others became victims themselves. It’s all rather monotonous now; we’ve discussed these events endlessly until they become tiresome.
It is widely known how political motives led to hundreds being killed: cases were investigated meticulously through trials involving document preparations followed by readings of sentences leading up to hangings conducted by law enforcement officials—the public knows about this too well.
The press covered these stories extensively for weeks—television aired footage repeatedly featuring that elderly mustachioed man speaking about rights only for him ultimately ending up strangled alongside numerous men and women as if their deaths were mere footnotes in history.
Victims would be taken one or two at a time into rooms where they’d meet their fate via strangulation using ropes meant solely for such purposes—with one victim silenced before another even entered that grim space beside them—and once lifeless bodies dangled motionless overhead medical personnel would declare death then cut down those remains subsequently buried outside afterward without ceremony or respect.
Later on, corpses exhumed mysteriously remained unmentioned within articles detailing burial practices yet witnesses claimed bodies wrapped tightly in tarring material loaded onto trucks transported elsewhere only later dumped back underground again inside makeshift graves dug hastily prior allowing no dignity whatsoever during disposal regardless whether faces pointed skyward or downward upon entering dark earth below!
Tales suggested burials occurred face-down though it sounds far too sinister—even disturbingly poetic—for anyone involved since surely people wouldn’t concoct something so grotesque! They presumed thoroughly those plots would remain undiscovered forever believing firmly neither land nor graveyard ever existed here nor could U Hungary truly vanish entirely.”
